The concept of the standard has not changed but the structure has been aligned with the new ISO 9001.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What are the main differences between the old and new version?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The adoption of the high level structure<\/li>\n<li>Risk-based thinking to support and improve the understanding and application of the process approach<\/li>\n<li>Fewer prescriptive requirements<\/li>\n<li>More flexibility regarding documentation<\/li>\n<li>Improved applicability for services<\/li>\n<li>A requirement to define the boundaries of the QMS<\/li>\n<li>Increased emphasis on organisational context<\/li>\n<li>Increased leadership requirements<\/li>\n<li>Greater emphasis on achieving desired process results to improve customer satisfaction<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Most ISO standards are now required to adopt this structure; making it easier for organisations to address the requirements of more than one ISO standard within a single integrated system.
