But that is exactly what beansprout producer J Pau has achieved. 35 years ago, Joseph Pau couldn’t buy the quality and freshness of beansprouts he enjoyed, so using his electronic engineering background, he devised the machinery to grow his own, using hydroponic techniques (without soil). Now the London-based business is fully occupied in a continuous process, which involves checking, managing and irrigating the beansprouts regularly for 6 days, until is it time to harvest, pack and ship, and then start again. |
