MSM are delighted to announce that we have been awarded an International CSR Excellence Award 2016, for our ‘bee project’ and for adopting environmental best practice.
The IMSM Marketing department, explains IMSM’s environmental ‘Bee Project’ initiative and why we have won an International Corporate Social Responsibility Award…
So…What is our Bee project about?
As of January 2014, we have been aiming to support the sustainability of the world’s population of honeybees, which are vital for the pollination of the food harvest.
Honeybees are under threat as their numbers are declining. Although scientists haven’t come up with a definitive reason as to why, pesticides are believed to be a contributory factor.
By providing bee houses to our ISO14001 clients and a school of their choice, we are making a small but important step towards helping to sustain the bee population. At the same time, we also only provide the bee houses to those clients who demonstrate their environmental credentials; the bee houses act as both a reward for achieving environmental excellence and an incentive to do so.
Over and above our bee house campaign, we are committed to the environment and to minimising any negative impact on it. To this end we have a robust Community Social Responsibility policy and adopt environmentally friendly practices which help control our waste, promote recycling and reduce our carbon footprint.
Andrew Brewerton (General Manager) “We’re very proud of our ‘Bee Project’ initiative and all the other environmental campaigns we have been involved with other the past few years which have led us to win this CSR Award”.
Rebecca Randles (International Brand Manager) was presented with the CSR Award at a presentation ceremony on the 8th August at The Crystal, Royal Victoria Dock, London.
We would just like to take this opportunity to thank everyone at IMSM who has been involved in environmental campaigns.
